The Day of the Girl initiative, led by CFA Society South Africa, is a job shadowing initiative that allows adolescent girls to experience the investment industry up close. Through partnerships with local schools and financial institutions across South Africa and neighbouring SADC countries, the programme helps Grade 10 and 11 learners explore career paths in finance and investment.
Since launching in 2021, the initiative has grown from a virtual programme during the pandemic to a powerful, in-person experience. It connects learners with finance professionals.
“The program clarified various career opportunities and inspired us to consider finance as a future path.”
"Participating in the initiative aligned perfectly with our CSR goals, fostering diversity in the financial sector.”
“It was a great experience, and we look forward to it every year. Events like these are crucial for inspiring the next generation of finance professionals and promoting diversity in our industry.”
“Hosting the learners was a privilege. Our entire firm participated, and we are proud to support initiatives that empower the next generation.”

"Overally we were really grateful for the opportunity we were given to be a part of the job shadowing initiative. We are also thankful to the hosts for providing us with tokens, as well as making us comfortable throughout the day."
